8. This site is undergoing changes to reflect the new Building Standards systems introduced on the 1st of May 2005.
   
   Prior to the 1st of May 2005 the Building Standards functions were carried out in terms of the Building (Scotland) Act 1959. On the 1st of May 2005 a new Building Standards system was introduced and the Building Standards services now operates within the Building (Scotland) Act 2003.

   Users will find several WEB pages have "buttons" to select the new or old systems, as appropriate.
